A Realistic Reconnaissance Mission

For the first time at Eurosatory, Live Demonstrations will see institutional participants as well. French Army will be one of them. They will show how they respond to threats. In fact, Special Forces are participating in this year’s edition with their technologies and their modified vehicles. They are all set to play a rather realistic reconnaissance mission that ends with the death or the capture of the enemy in a quick yet discreet manner.

A Truly Global Affair

This year’s show is set against the backdrop of defense news pouring in from all corners of the world. From Poland’s Armament Inspectorate confirming the cancellation of yet another tender for procuring a new fleet of light multipurpose 4×4 vehicles to the Austrian MoD showcasing new armored vehicles including the Dingo 2 A3 (various configurations), a Pandur EVO prototype and a new all-terrain BvS10 AUT prototype, anything could be up for discussion.

The Changing Paradigm

While only three Australian firms participated in the previous edition, Eurosatory 2018 will see 45 of them. Also, though six Russian firms have booked space at the trade show, they won’t be showcasing weapons. Instead, they’ll be bringing clothes and other goods. The move is said to a reflection of the Western sanctions following the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.

A Lot To Look Forward To

The new hall 5B completes the indoor exhibition area at Eurosatory, while the live demonstrations area has now become all the more accessible. In addition, an all-new start-up area called Eurosatory LAB has also been convened. Dedicated to international start-ups in the fields of defense and security, the LAB would be the perfect platform for up to 80 most groundbreaking start-up companies to display their products or services alongside the major players.
